If the USA did this, Biden should resign. More likely Russia did it. I have trouble believing Ukraine had the ability.

Why not Russia? Well, they already stopped the gas transport through these pipelines before. And the chances that they could ever reactivate them to sell gas were very small because of the war in Ukraine.
So they possibly took that chance to blow them up and spread rumors, suspicions and dissension.

It allowed them to cut gas to Europe without being seen formally doing so. Also got them out of a contract they did not want to fulfill.
